44 Learners | 44 Completed Lessons | 15 Hours of Learning Time

Learning Activity

According to Katie White in her Article "Next Generation Assessment: Increasing Student Voice and Choice" 'when students decides how they might like to practice a skill, develop essential knowledge or demonstrate a learning goal, they are practicing independent decision-making. This means they are reflecting on both their needs, their strengths, and their interests. It also means they have to determine how they will know whether a choice they made was successful, and whether they would make the same choice next time.' (White, 2020)

Read Katie White's article below and reflect on your previous learning on student voice and choice. Write 4-5 sentences on your understanding of the importance of student voice and choice and how you as an educator can accomplish this approach in your classroom.
