Zearn: Creating a Math Schedule

10 Learners | 10 Completed Lessons | 3 Hours of Learning Time

Learning Activity

In this activity, you'll learn about scheduling independent and small group learning for Zearn. In general, a daily Zearn Math schedule involves a 10-15 minute opening warm-up (Fluency and Word Problems), 30 minutes learning in Independent Digital Lessons each day, and 30 minutes learning in Small Group Instruction. A weekly schedule incorporated this daily schedule as well as weekly flex time that focuses on student needs and address alerts from Zearn Reports.

The first week with Zearn Math sets up students to be successful independent learners. To enable this success, teachers are also recommended to:

  • Complete 2–3 Independent Digital Lessons as a whole class;
  • Model completing paper Student Notes and correcting them when prompted;
  • Discuss strategies for persevering through challenges; and
  • Practice rotating between the Small Group Lesson station and Independent Digital Lesson station.

In this activity, create and upload a Week 1 plan based on Zearn recommendations.
