Trying to find a way to liven up a lesson with a technology activity that will support multiple subjects?  Consider using Google maps.  Originally, Google maps was used as a way to get driving directions. However, Google Maps has grown into a full blown Global Information System or GIS.  Systems like this can help prepare students for also sorts of careers such as architecture, archeology, geology etc.  By finding ways to incorporate these systems into your lessons, you will not only just enhance your unit but give students skills they may need as an adult.
