Within PBIS, there is a continuum for responding to and decreasing the likelihood of norm-violating problem behavior. This continuum begins with the display of expected behavior, with behavior in each succeeding sequence of the continuum involving gradually more inappropriate behavior that ultimately requires escalation from staff management to office management.
