Learning Activity

In this activity you will learn how to identify the four (4) levels of Webb’s Depth of Knowledge (Math) chart so that you can create an environment where all students learn at higher levels.

  1. List, by name, the specific DOK level (1, 2, 3, or 4) for each of the below examples:

    1. Explain/justify your thinking
    2. Provide a mathematical justification
    3. Solve a multiple- step problem, supported with a mathematical explanation that justifies the answer  
  2. Create a brief scenario or practice problem, in the math classroom, that would illustrate students working at the DOK Level you identified in the question above.
