Passwords and privacy settings are just two ways you can protect yourself online. Most websites allow you to select an audience for your posts, photos, or content, whether that's worldwide, to a select audience, or entirely private. 

If you think you know how to write a hacker-proof password, think again. Until recently (and almost universally), passwords had to include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, special characters, and meet a length requirement. Recently, however, the man who wrote these original password guidelines has significantly changed his recommendation.
