The use of interactive educational apps results in new data to be generated. When these resources are used in a classroom setting, the new data is generated about individual students. This data can include (but is not limited to) actions such as the creation of drafts, any edits that were made, the learner's pace, and the learner's their performance. Given these capabilities, it is important to ensure that any app you're considering using in your classroom is FERPA compliant.
Visit the Android, Apple, or Amazon app store. From the education section, choose two apps that you would consider using in your classroom and evaluate them to determine whether or not they are FERPA compliant.
