Restorative Practices Continuum
Learning Activity
The Restorative Practice Continuum provides a variety of approaches that range from less formal to more formal (e.g., affective communication, circles, and formal conferencing) that support well-being by building, strengthening, responding to, repairing, and restoring relationships. Operating proactively and responsively within the continuum allows us to maximize positive affect, minimize negative affect, and minimize our inhibition of affect while working with students.
Resources
This video provides examples of each process of the Restorative Practices Continuum (informal to formal); affective statements, affective questions, small impromptu conversations (conferences), circles, and formal conferences.
