Learning Activity

Tier 2 provides interventions and supports for at-risk students. These students are identified in a number of ways; teacher nomination as a result of observations and interactions, school data, and universal screenings. 

Characteristics of these students can include:

  • the perception that school is boring
  • feeling disconnected from the school environment
  • excessive tardiness
  • low academic expectations, performance, and skill development
  • economic disadvantage
  • limited English proficiency
  • and unstable and/or unsupportive family home
