Integrating Suicide Prevention within PBIS
Learning Activity
While the PBIS framework can have a positive impact on the student behavior and success (e.g., increasing attendance and academic performance while reducing problematic behavior), incorporating mental health integration (Interconnected Systems Framework, a.k.a., ISF) strengthens the implementation. One component a consideration in a school's ISF implementation should be the incorporation of appropriate early interventions and supports for students dealing with or at risk of suicidal ideation.
Watch the brief video below about why the PBIS framework should be used for installing mental health interventions for students with internalizing issues. When you're done, review the presentation linked in the Resources section.
