Learning Activity

As depicted in the image below, our culture impacts more than just the visible aspects of our everyday life. Our culture (whether it's from the country we emigrated from, our region of the country, our religious beliefs, etc.) shapes what we consider normal, aspirational, unacceptable, respectful, and even how we view ourselves, life, and the world around us.

In order to successfully produce learners that have the solid social and emotional skills that will enable them to flourish in the world, it is important to ensure that your SEL implementation takes that learner's culture into consideration in its methods and is responsive to it.
