Pages: Track Changes on a document

11 Learners | 11 Completed Lessons | 2 Hours of Learning Time

Learning Activity

Tracking changes made to your document in Pages allows you to see edits that teachers or classmates may suggest for you. When tracking is turned on, changed text appears in a different color from the surrounding text, and change bars appear in the margin.

Resources

To Track Changes in Text

  1. Tap the More button at the top of the screen.

  2. Tap Change Tracking, then turn Change Tracking on.

  3. Tap the document to close the controls.

If you need to make changes that you don’t want to be tracked, you can pause change tracking, make changes, and then turn it back on. Tap the More button, tap Change Tracking, then tap Pause.

Text that appears in shapes and text boxes on master pages and in section master objects isn’t tracked.

To Accept or Reject Changes

  1. To be sure all changes are visible, tap the More button, tap Change Tracking, then tap Markup.

  2. Do any of the following:

    • Tap an instance of marked text, then tap Accept or Reject.

    • Turn off Change Tracking. A dialog asks if you want to accept or reject all changes.

If you reject all changes, the text reverts to the state of the document before you started tracking.
